Boxes are useful for shipping items, storing items and packing items for a move.
They come in all sizes, materials and colors.
Boxes can be functional and basic or decorative.
Boxes can sometimes seem like they are taking over a space.
So, why do we have so many boxes?
People, for the most part, hang onto more items then they need, love or use.

Some boxes hold seasonal items: decorations and clothes.
Other boxes contain memories: letter, photos, school papers, etc..
Garage and basements hold boxes of items that people think they might need “Someday”.
Here are a seven guidelines to think about when going through boxes:
1. Do the items in the box serve me where I am right now in my life?
2. What is the worst thing that will happen if I get rid of the items in the box?
3. How long since I opened the box?
4. Who could benefit from the items in my box?
5. Is the box in very good condition and useful for what I need to store?
6. Do I really need to keep the boxes that my TV, phone etc. came in?
7. Can I get new boxes easily if I need them?
Suggestion: go through one box a week in your home. Take everything out of the box and ask yourself the questions listed above and these three additional questions.
1. Do I need it?
2. Do I use it?
3. Do I love it?
Have a box handy for donations and the trash can nearby.
For items that you decide to keep:
What is the best type of storage container?
Where should I keep the storage containers?
Would you like it out to use or display?
Keep the best, get rid of the rest!
Enjoy what is left.
